An acquisition has taken place across the continent to the north, where Egyptian B2B, e-commerce platform, MaxAB, has secured US15 million funding for the acquisition of Moroccan-based B2B, ecommerce, and distribution platform, WaystoCap, as well as for its closing Series A round. The acquisition is also part of a regional expansion plan, where it hopes to scale across Africa. 

This has been a big week for the Indian multinational, as Wipro Limited has been awarded a multi-year contract with the European electric utility company, E.ON. As part of their digital transformation journey, E.ON will be supplied with Wipro’s Application Maintenance & Support Services (AMS). Wipro will also manage E.ON’s IT system and provide other application and technology services

Factors driving the multinational to the top spot included their strong work-at-home agent (WAHA) program, strong recruiting practices, proprietary technological tools, operational best practices, and futuristic vision.

Swiss intelligent document processing (IDP) giant, TCG Process, has announced a global partnership with Wipro Limted, a leading global information technology, consulting and business process services provider. DocProStar, TCG’s enterprise process automation platform, will be integrated with Wipro’s Artificial Intelligence Solutions group, in the hopes to deliver a leading Artificial Intelligence (AI) and document processing solution. The mutualized solution will enhance both companies’ automation offerings in document processing, thereby lowering costs and speeding up operational processes. 

Two Canadian corporate powerhouses, TELUS International and GM Canada, have partnered to integrate GM’s next generation vehicles to TELUS’ 5G network. The partnership is crucial to adjust to trends of connectivity transforming the vehicle ownership experience and enhance GM’s next generation vehicle offering. This partnership extends the 20 year relationship between the two companies.

In general news, the global cloud computing market is set to experience significant gains over the next seven years, reaching US$1,2 trillion in 2028, achieving a CAGR of 19.1% over the forecast period. The Grand View Research report found that the growth is attributed to the rapid digitization of businesses, steep increases in global internet penetration, and big data consumption. 5G, Internet of Things (IoT), and artificial intelligence (AI) adoption are the technologies that are also driving the growth.
